August Update: Hi There!

Posted by StitchMiss - August 5th, 2024

Finally got around to setting up an account on here XD Told myself I'd do it when I set up my other socials...never happened, got distracted, ended up making more art when I already have too much of it to post.

Here I am now.

But glad to be here! Excited to post a bunch of my favorite arties on here, ranging from original to fan art, animated to digital to sketched. Maybe even some of my sculpted or stitched-together pieces. While also supporting some of my favorite artists, while finding new ones along the way :D

Some interesting facts about my works:

  • I draw with a mouse and keyboard (RIP wireless mouse, this wired one has been a nightmare to work with in recent weeks x_x)
  • I animate with Windows Movie Maker...it is a painfully slow process, but I've made it work
  • For years, I used Paint XP to draw with. I have thankfully upgraded to GIMP now, but am well versed in how to use Adobe CS
  • My cat usually sits on me when I'm working. This is why she is often seen in any of my logos/with my personas...because she is the true mastermind at work here o_o
  • I will probably end up posting a LOT of Madness fan art, because I've been having a lot of fun with it as of late XD It's a fandom that gave me the chance to practice more action poses, gore and background work (which I all struggled with for a while).

So yeah :) Brief introduction.

Hope to post an update of some kind once a month on what new art I am working on and what I hope to post that month.

Will try and keep on top of posting, but as I've said on my other socials...that is not something I can promise XD

From a stranger on the internet: Belated welcome to the Grounds That Are New! Hope you'll have a good time on here.

And please pay the secret laboratory entrance behind the bookcase no mind.
The one that we don't have, i mean.
The laboraty i mean, that's the thing we definitely DON'T have. We do have a bookcase.

Thank you for the belated welcome! :D Been pretty cool on these Grounds od newishness so far.
....are there any good books on the shelf? o.o

@StitchMiss Thou art most welcome! Glad stuff's good so far, and may that keep up. This place is irreverent as all get-out.
Thank you very much for the follow too. I'm glad my stuff is interesting enough for you :)

Uuuhhhh... we've got... we've got the Ghormenghast trilogy by Mervyn Peake, various Discworld and Tolkien books, some cool illustrated pre-teen books about pirates and knights, the Necronomicon (translated pocket edition), some biology books about birds, lizards, spiders and beetles respectively, and Raising An Evil Army For Dummies.
And of course the *super monotone voice* Fantastic World Of Sand Grains, Edition 14,354, which is a disguised lever for the secret laboratory--
THE ONE WE DON'T HAVE, THAT IS.

It certainly is XD It has been refreshing to see a site still run by human beings, with human being interests in mind, rather than some line of code deciding what's trending or not XD
Not a problem ^-^ Your characters look very interesting!

WHAT?! You have the 14,354th Edition of Fantastic World of Sand Grains?? D: I heard it was super rare! Might give that one a look o.o

@StitchMiss Right on. Let alone the line of codes that companies and certain types use to nick art, cut it, restitch it and pass it off as their own creation.
Anyway-- simply have fun, and watch out for any angry giraffes, or whatever other dangers may dwell here.
Thank you very much! Glad you find them interesting. In recent years it's mainly been cartoonish figures but i still want to work with a manga-inspired one and with drawing a lot of monsters.
I see mainly fan art in your own account (cool fupping stuff) and the ones that stand out most to me are Marco & Tarma and Abe. Fantastic madness in Metal Slug, mainly in the vehicles. And Oddworld is morbid and lovely with all its nonhuman creatures and setting. Keep it up!

NNOOOOOOOOOO--I mean, ah, that thing's on loan! Reserved! It's reserved to be on loan and as such it mustn't be touched!
But uuuuh, can i interest you in the 14,234th Edition of Fantastic World of Sand Grains instead? Heard that one's interesting too! Probably.

Geeeezus yeah. I was watching one of these YouTube vids where artists tried out one of those AI Art programs, and the stuff those things string together is terrifying x_x Like just ask an artist to do it, stop feeding computers information on how to eventually destroy us! XD
I shall certainly try my best to! Heard those giraffes can get pretty scary ^^;
That's awesome ^-^ Always cool to have inspirations to work with, and to try out new styles and mediums to capture your own stories. I look forward to seeing what you work on!
Thank you :D I love my old school, retro games (as well as Indie titles XD) For me, it was the amazing pixel art in Metal Slug that got me hooked. Even the pick-up items were always so well animated, and the enemy designs in the later games - especially the aliens - were just epic XD
And Oddworld was another gem. The story was really powerful, and the characters were lovable. Still enjoying playing Exoddus to this day heh.
I have some OCs I do plan to eventually post - one of whom people have enjoyed for years XD Had fangirls, the poor guy. But I've been doing so much fanart lately, I thought I'd catch up with those first heh.

Aw :( That's a shame. How long is it on loan for? Maybe I can loan it afterwards o.o
Nah, read that one. They printed it on that weird mush paper they use for paper straws now. Long story short: Bought a copy. It rained. Never got to actually read it.
